Privacy Policy
How GI.EVENTS handles enquiry, estimate and planning information shared through this website.
Effective date: July 7, 2026. Updated: October 25, 2026 (GI Assistant chat records and optional offers).
1. Information We Collect
When you submit an enquiry, consultation request, contact form, budget estimate or account form, we may collect your name, phone number, email address, city, event type, event date, budget range, guest count, message, estimate details and related planning preferences.
How you found us. With an enquiry, a vendor or venue application, a testimonial, or a suggestion or feedback message, we also record the name of the website that sent you to us (for example google.com, but not the full web address or your search words), the first page you visited on our site and any campaign tags in the link you followed. If you answer the optional "How did you hear about us?" question, we keep that answer with what you send us, and your browser remembers it until you close the tab. Your browser keeps the website and campaign details for up to 30 days and sends it only with a form you choose to submit. We also record an approximate location (city, state and country) worked out on our own server from your internet address; it is often the city of your internet provider rather than where you are. We do not store your internet address itself. Location lookups use the free DB-IP database, and no visitor data is sent to DB-IP or anyone else for this.
Continue with Google. If you choose to open My Event with your Google account, you sign in on Google's own page and we never see your Google password. Google sends us only your email address, a permanent number for your Google account and a confirmation that the email belongs to you. Google opens My Event only for an email we already have from your saved estimate or enquiry; the first time, we create your My Event account from those details. We keep the Google account number and email to recognise you next time, and the times you signed in. We ask Google for nothing else: we cannot read your Gmail, contacts or files. While you sign in, the site stores one short-lived security cookie on api.gestureindia.in, which is removed when Google sends you back and expires within 10 minutes in any case. You can always use the emailed sign-in link instead. To have us forget your Google account, write to events@gestureindia.in; you can also remove Gesture India Events at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
2. How We Use Information
We use submitted information to respond to enquiries, prepare event planning guidance, create budget estimates, coordinate follow-up, improve the website experience, and manage customer or CRM records where applicable.
Website assistant. We save your GI Assistant conversation word for word, both your messages and our replies. We keep it for our records, to improve the assistant's answers, and so that we can refer to what was discussed if a question about an enquiry or booking arises. A conversation that leads to an enquiry is kept with that enquiry and its details, described above. Conversations are kept only for as long as these purposes need, which is longer for enquiries and bookings, and longer again where a conversation may be needed for a complaint or dispute until that is settled; copies in our encrypted backups expire in the normal backup cycle. We do not store your IP address or browser details with the conversation itself. Please do not type card, bank or ID numbers into the assistant. Questions the assistant could not answer, and your thumbs up or down on a reply, also go to our team to review. We also record anonymous conversation steps, such as opening the assistant or reaching a planning question, using a random identifier kept only in your browser tab. So that your chat is still there if you refresh the page or move to another page, your browser tab also keeps a copy of this visit's messages; your browser deletes that copy when you close the tab, and the assistant's Start over button clears the screen and begins a new conversation. You can ask us to delete a conversation through the contact page (tell us roughly when you chatted and what about), unless we need to keep it for a legal claim or dispute.
Visit reference and event brief. When you start planning with the GI Assistant, we give your visit a short reference such as GIA-7K3M-Q9TX and save the event details you share, for example the occasion, city, number of guests, services and budget. This brief contains no name, phone number or email address, and only your browser tab holds the key that can read or change it. If you later send us your contact details or save an estimate, your enquiry carries the same reference so our team can see the brief you prepared. Briefs that never become an enquiry are deleted after 90 days.
Offers and discounts. If you tick "Send me offers and discounts on my next event" when you send an enquiry, we keep your name, contact details and the date you agreed, and may send you offers. This is optional and separate from your enquiry. You can ask us to stop at any time through the contact page or by replying to an offer, and we then stop sending them.
Analytics cookies (Google Analytics)
The bar at the bottom of the site asks whether we may use Google Analytics. If you choose OK, got it, Google Analytics stores cookies in your browser and receives the pages you visit, the buttons and forms you use (for example "started a budget estimate"), the website that sent you here, and your device, browser and approximate area, which Google works out from your internet address. We use this only in summary to see which pages help visitors and where the site can improve. We never send your name, phone number, email address or the messages you type to Google Analytics, and advertising features are switched off.
If you choose No thanks, no analytics cookies are stored and no page views or events are sent to Google Analytics. Your browser still downloads Google's tag script, but it does not record your visit. Your choice is saved in your browser only.
3. Public Display of Lead Activity
Website activity widgets must not display phone numbers, email addresses or full personal details publicly. Public lead activity should use anonymised wording such as city, event type or general action only.
4. Third-Party Services and External Links
The website may link to external shopping, travel, hotel, vendor or service platforms. These external websites have their own policies. GI.EVENTS is not responsible for how third-party websites collect or process information after you leave gestureindia.in.
5. Data Sharing
We may share necessary event requirements with relevant service providers only for enquiry handling, quotation, availability checks or event coordination. Final service engagement is subject to separate confirmation and agreed terms.
6. Security
We use reasonable safeguards for submitted data. For production systems, administrative access should be protected by authentication, role controls, password hashing, environment-based secrets and rate limiting.
7. Your Choices
Testimonials. When you share a testimonial, we keep your name, email address, any mobile number, your rating, your words, the event details you give, your display-name choice and, for a client testimonial, your event reference; for a general testimonial (from a guest, vendor, venue partner or visitor), we keep how you told us you know GI.EVENTS instead. Nothing is posted directly or automatically: our team reviews every testimonial first, to keep the website genuine and free of fake or abusive posts. If we publish it, we show only your words, your rating, the display name you chose and, if you gave them, the event type and city; general testimonials are shown apart from client testimonials. Your email and mobile number are never shown. To change or withdraw your testimonial at any time, reply to our thank-you email or contact us through the contact page.
Stories shared on our city guides. When you use "Share your city's story" on a city guide, we keep your story, the city, the name you chose to be credited with (if any) and, if you gave one, your email or mobile number. Our team reviews every story, and nothing appears on the website without that review. If we choose your story, we may show it on that city guide with the name you gave, or as "a visitor". Your email or mobile number is never shown and is used only to thank you or reply. To change or withdraw your story at any time, reply to our thank-you email or contact us through the contact page.
You may request correction or deletion of submitted enquiry information by contacting GI.EVENTS through the contact page. Some records may be retained where required for business, legal, accounting or dispute-resolution purposes.
