Rooted Giving: Every celebration has a story. Every thread has a face. Senior tailors and weavers at work on sarees and a loom beside the river ghats, an elder handing a family a gift saree under a wedding mandap, and the words: We do not believe that preserving a tradition means keeping it in the past. We believe it means helping the people who carry it find a place in the future.

The Rooted Giving Initiative

Where Experience Finds Purpose, Skills Find Opportunity, and Traditions Find a Future.

We are not here merely for business. Rooted Giving is how GI.EVENTS connects the demand created by celebrations with small local businesses, experienced workers and traditional producers, so that the people and skills that built our communities keep earning, contributing, teaching and creating.

What we believe

The philosophy behind Rooted Giving

  • Age should not end a person's contribution.
  • Experience should not lose its value.
  • Local talent should not remain invisible.
  • Economic progress should not require abandoning the people and traditions that built our communities.

Every Indian celebration already depends on these people: the tailor who stitches the wedding clothes, the cook who knows the family recipe, the weaver behind the gifted saree and the elder who knows how each ritual should be done. Rooted Giving is not only about helping senior citizens and local industries survive. It is about giving them steady, positive work and a respected place in every celebration we plan.

What we are building

Four pillars of Rooted Giving

These pillars describe what we are building. Some begin today through vendor registration and our Freelance Network; the rest will grow step by step, with care, as the network grows.

01

Dignified Earning for Senior Citizens

From retirement to renewed participation.

Many seniors still hold skills, energy and the wish to stay active. We want to open paid work to them, at a pace that suits them:

  • Crafts, tailoring and handwork
  • Cooking and home production of sweets, snacks and pickles
  • Event assistance and guest hospitality
  • Mentoring, teaching and guiding rituals
  • Part-time, seasonal and project-based work

Participation is always voluntary, respectful and adapted to each person's health and comfort.

02

Revival of Local Industries and Traditional Skills

Preserve the skill. Expand the market. Sustain the livelihood.

Handlooms, cloth houses, sweet makers, potters, florists and small workshops across India deserve to be found. We help them with:

  • Profiles that families can discover online
  • Connections with planners and families who need their work
  • Supply opportunities through event briefs
  • Help presenting their portfolio and work photos
  • Visibility beyond their own town

The aim is not to replace traditional industries with technology. It is to use technology to help those industries find new customers.

03

The Legacy Workforce

Experience is an asset, not an expired qualification.

Master craftspeople, retired professionals and keepers of tradition have knowledge no course can replace. We want that knowledge to earn and to travel:

  • Paid mentoring and apprenticeships for younger workers
  • Demonstrations and workshops at events
  • Advice on rituals, regional cuisine and crafts
  • Recording skills so they are not lost

It is a two-way exchange: the young learn the craft, and the elders stay connected to new ways of working.

04

Local Livelihoods and Inclusive Enterprise

Growth that reaches beyond the largest businesses.

Every event creates demand for goods and services. We want more of it to reach small and local businesses:

  • Event purchases routed to local sellers where they fit
  • Vendor networks town by town
  • Business-to-business work between small enterprises
  • Discovery of local products for gifts and decor
  • Collaborations between makers, planners and families

More of the value of each celebration stays within local communities, and capable people earn through their own work.

Our promise to seniors

Senior citizens come first

As the world moved online, many elderly artisans, cooks and home-based sellers were left out of digital listings. Their mastery should not fade because a form was hard to fill.

01

No Digital Hurdles

Senior vendors, 60 and above, never need to fill an online form alone. Our team guides them by phone or WhatsApp, and in person where we can reach, and takes their details for them.

02

Help With Their Listing

We help with photographs and listing details so their work can be found on gestureindia.in. A listing follows our usual review and the seller's own approval.

03

Preference, Always

Where a senior's work fits a brief, we put it in front of the family, at their own pace and on their own terms.

Rooted in Indian Traditions. Connected by Human Emotions. Empowered by Technology.

We do not believe that preserving a tradition means keeping it in the past. We believe it means helping the people who carry it find a place in the future.

Every celebration has a story. Every thread has a face.
