Wedding rituals and ceremonies checklist

For the sacred ceremonies of the wedding itself. Every family and region follows its own sequence; follow your pandit, priest and elders, and use this list for the arrangements around each rite.

Families often remember the venue, food and decoration and forget the one thing that keeps the day: someone to photograph it. Read why we made these lists.

Who decides the order of the wedding rituals?

Your pandit or priest and the family elders. Customs differ by community and region, so ask for the complete sequence, timings and samagri list early and share them with both families.

What samagri is needed for the wedding pheras?

Typically a havan kund, wood, ghee, havan samagri, rice, a kalash, flowers, the varmala, mangalsutra and sindoor, but the exact list comes from your pandit and family tradition.
