List your DJ business with GI.EVENTS
Music for every function
Each function asks for something different. The sangeet needs dance tracks cued in the order the family has rehearsed. The baraat needs a mobile setup that moves at walking pace, often alongside a dhol or band. The reception needs softer music while guests eat and talk. Some families prefer devotional songs at the haldi or no music at all during the ceremony. A DJ who reads the occasion keeps the celebration joyful without drowning out the family.
What families ask a DJ
Families ask whether you bring backup power and a spare mixer, how much space and time you need to set up, and whether the volume can be kept gentle near the elders' seating. They also ask for songs in their own language, whether Bhojpuri, Punjabi, Marathi or Tamil, and for clean versions of popular tracks at a family event. Tell us these in the form, along with the cities you play in.
Why vendors join the GI.EVENTS family
- Free to register. Registering and being listed under our Free Listing Terms costs you nothing at present.
- You set your own price. You quote your own packages and decide whether to take up an enquiry.
- Written terms first. How the work and payment are handled is agreed with you in writing before any booking.
- One team on the day. Our GI Concierge team coordinates with you before and during the event, so everyone works to one plan.
Can I register from any city in India?
Yes. Vendors from anywhere in India can apply. Tell us where your business is based and the cities you serve.
Does registering list my business on the website?
No. Applying does not create a public listing, verification or partnership. Our team reviews each application, may ask for business, pricing and document details, and any working relationship needs separate approval and agreement. Registering does not promise enquiries or bookings.
Questions DJs ask
How do I get more DJ bookings for weddings?
Share videos or links from sangeets, receptions and parties you have played, and list your sound and lighting setup. When a family near you plans an event, our team may contact you for a quote. Registering does not promise bookings.
Can a freelance DJ join without GST?
Yes. Individual DJs with a PAN can apply, and no GST number is needed to apply. Most service providers do not need GST registration until their yearly turnover across India goes above Rs 20 lakh (Rs 10 lakh in Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura); some cases need registration sooner. During review our team may ask for your GSTIN, Udyam number or PAN.
Do I set my own DJ and sound packages?
Yes. Quote for hours, speakers, lights, a dance floor or a dhol add-on as you offer them, and decide which enquiries to accept.
What sound rules should a DJ follow?
Under the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000, a loudspeaker or public address system needs written permission from the local authority and must not be used between 10 pm and 6 am, except in closed premises such as auditoriums, community halls and banquet halls. A state may allow use until midnight on a limited number of festival days each year, so we plan timings for each venue and date.
Will I work with your team on the event day?
On events we plan, our GI Concierge team shares the running order with you in advance, including entries, the varmala and sangeet songs, and coordinates cues with you on the day.
