The first thing guests see

An invitation sets the tone for the whole celebration. In many Hindu homes the first card is offered to Ganesh ji before any other is sent. Many nikah cards open with Bismillah, and many Sikh wedding cards with Ik Onkar. Cards for elders are often still carried to their door by hand, sometimes with a box of sweets. Families may need the same card in Hindi and English, or in a regional language and script, with separate inserts for the haldi, mehndi, sangeet and reception. A designer who understands this makes cards the family is proud to hand over.

What families ask an invitation designer

Families ask to see a printed proof before the full order, and they check every name, title and spelling twice, especially when names appear in two scripts. They ask whether envelopes can be addressed for them, whether a matching e-invite can be made from the printed design for guests who live far away, and when the boxes will be delivered home. Answering these in the form helps our team suggest you to the right family.

Why vendors join the GI.EVENTS family

  • Free to register. Registering and being listed under our Free Listing Terms costs you nothing at present.
  • You set your own price. You quote your own packages and decide whether to take up an enquiry.
  • Written terms first. How the work and payment are handled is agreed with you in writing before any booking.
  • One team on the day. Our GI Concierge team coordinates with you before and during the event, so everyone works to one plan.

Can I register from any city in India?

Yes. Vendors from anywhere in India can apply. Tell us where your business is based and the cities you serve.

Does registering list my business on the website?

No. Applying does not create a public listing, verification or partnership. Our team reviews each application, may ask for business, pricing and document details, and any working relationship needs separate approval and agreement. Registering does not promise enquiries or bookings.

Questions invitation designers ask

How do I get more wedding card orders?

Share photos of printed cards, boxes and e-invites you have made, with the languages and printing styles you offer. When a family near you is choosing invitations, our team may contact you for a quote. Registering does not promise orders.

Can I register if I only design e-invites?

Yes. Designers who make only e-invites, video invitations or cards for WhatsApp can apply. Say which formats and languages you design in and how many changes you include.

Can a freelance e-invite designer join without GST?

Yes. Freelance e-invite designers with a PAN can apply, and no GST number is needed to apply. Most service providers do not need GST registration until their yearly turnover across India goes above Rs 20 lakh (Rs 10 lakh in Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura); some cases need registration sooner. During review our team may ask for your GSTIN, Udyam number or PAN.

Do I set my own price per card?

Yes. Quote per card, per box or per design, say your minimum order and how long printing takes, and decide which enquiries to accept.

What packaging should I use for cards?

Since 1 July 2022, wrapping or packing films around invitation cards and sweet boxes are among the single-use plastic items banned in India. Mention the paper, cloth or other packaging you use instead.
